Using the Minerva Data Viewer
The Minerva Data Viewer is used to view the data packages generated by the Minerva Data Export solution in Aras.
When the Minerva Data Viewer installation pack have been downloaded from the Minerva website, unzip the file in a folder of your own choice.
Click on the application named “Minerva Data Viewer” in the folder named MinervaDataViewer.
Complete the installation through the wizard.
1.2 - View the MDV file
The MDV file can be downloaded from Innovator and opened in Minerva Data Viewer desktop application.
The MDV package contains information and data about the item(s) from where the file generation action was triggered. With respect to preconfigured part configuration, a part export contains the documents associated with the part and AML information and files associated to the AML. If there is a BOM on the part, all parts from the BOM will also be exported and the same information will be exported for the BOM parts as for the part from where the export was triggered.
1.2.1 - Top Level Items
The TOC (table of content) on the left panel lists all item types included in the export. Double clicking on a specific item type will open a grid containing all items of that type. Apart from the item types, the top level items and its related items can be accessed from the TOC itself.
1.2.2 - Search Grid
Double clicking on an item type opens up a grid containing list of all items of the type. The user can filter the data to be viewed by supplying conditions in the search box below the column headers. Pressing on enter or clicking on Apply filter will fetch the results of the filter query.
1.2.3 - Item View
Double clicking on an item in the grid opens a new tab containing details about the item. There is a tab showing list of properties and a tab for each relationship type. The example below shows a part item with properties, Part BOM and Part Document relationships.
1.2.4 - Relationships
The relationship tab captures multilevel relationships. The example below shows a multilevel Part BOM relationship, which can be expanded by clicking on “+” button
1.2.5 - Versions and Comparison (Redlining feature)
Minerva Data Viewer allows export and view of all the major versions and the current version of the top level item. The “Version” drop down lists all the versions. By default, the latest version is selected.
The “Compare With” dropdown also populates the list of versions and enables comparing the currently selected version with the one to be compared with.
Comparison and redlining is done and property and relationship level. Green denotes addition, blue denotes modification and red denotes deletion. In case of modification the old value will be seen in struck out red fomt
1.2.6 - Export
Export option allows the current grid in view to be exported into CSV format.
Select the CSV type. Tab is selected by default.
1.2.7 - Documents
Minerva Data Viewer allows exporting and viewing of files from Aras file vault. The example below shows a part item with Part Document relationship containing file attached.
Clicking on the File item will open the file in the associated application. For e.g. doc file opens in MS Word.
